HE might not be a 'legend of the links' but no-one could doubt Pat Rafter's pulling power on the tennis court.

So when the Pacific Dunes part-owner offered to take residents out for a game last month it was no suprise when more than 100 of them turned up.

"This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience to play alongside an Australian sporting legend like Pat Rafter," said Pacific Dunes resident Colin Honeyman.

"It's not a bad way to experience the course either."

The easy-going Rafter was happy to be involved in the event:

"Golf is a great passion of mine and I love getting a chance to play here," he said.

"It was a great day of golf and I really enjoyed meeting some of the Pacific Dunes' residents," he said.

Pacific Dunes marketing manager Melanie Linde said the golf day at the $180m resort was organised as a thank you to everyone invovled in the development's success.

"This was the first of what we plan to make an annual event - a great day on the golf course for Pacific Dunes residents with Pat Rafter, Linde said.
