Living Carlton is a master planned, environmentally sustainable redevelopment integrating both social and private housing. The redevelopment includes new public parks, a community garden and pedestrian and bicycle pathways.
The Living Carlton Consortium, comprising Citta Property Group and Australand, was selected by the Office of Housing as the successful applicant to develop three inner city sites in Carlton covering an area of 7.5 hectares. When completed the redevelopment will incorporate 246 social housing apartments and approximately 550 private apartments, a 136 bed aged care facility, and approximately 180 independent living units with a total end value of $300 million.
Jackson Architecture is engaged as the master plan design architect coordinating the project. A team of architects have contributed to the designs to give the project real diversity in the urban planning and architectural form along with innovation in housing typology and sustainability measures.
Ciitta Property Group teamed with Australand provide the key management resources to undertake the development and project management. Australand has the role of coordinating the sales and marketing.
